Mood of the Day: Wearing the Good Perfume on a Plain Tuesday

Today's mood is the good perfume on a plain Tuesday. You know the bottle. It lives at the back of the shelf, saved for weddings, anniversaries, and the occasional night when you want to feel dangerous. Tuesday has not earned it. Wear it anyway.

Here is my theory. We treat our best things like they're waiting for a more deserving day, but days don't deserve anything. They're just the planks we stand on. A Tuesday with amber and bergamot at your wrist becomes a different animal entirely, one that purrs a little.

One spray, behind the ear or on the inside of the wrist, where a pulse lives. You don't need a cloud. You want someone to catch it only when they lean in to hand you a folder, and then to forget, for just a second, what the folder was about.

Here is my theory.

What I love is how it changes you from the inside. You move a little slower. You tilt your head when you listen. The scent is a private joke between you and the room, and you're the only one who knows the punchline until somebody asks what you're wearing.

And when they do ask, don't answer too fast. Smile, let it hang, and say something like 'a good decision.' It's true, and it leaves them wanting the rest of the sentence. That's the whole art of the tease: a little less than they hoped for.
